অর্জনসমূহ  (Achievements) 

    জ্ঞানমনস্ক আলোকিত সমাজ বিনির্মাণের লক্ষ্যে হাওরবেষ্টিত সুনামগঞ্জ জেলার জনগোষ্ঠীর নিবিড় প্রত্যাশাপূরণ তথা বইপাঠে সর্ব সাধারণকে উৎসাহিত ও সময়-সাশ্রয়ী কার্যকর তথ্যসেবা প্রদান করা জেলা সরকারি গণগ্রন্থাগার, সুনামগঞ্জ কার্যালয়ের প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য। আলোকবর্তিকাবাহী বইপাঠে সর্বসাধারণকে উদ্বুদ্ধ করা এবং বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক আধুনিক তথ্য-প্রযুক্তি সম্বলিত সুবিধাদির দ্বারা সময় সাশ্রয়ী ও কার্যকর তথ্যসেবা প্রদান করা এ প্রয়াসের অন্তর্ভূক্ত। উদ্দিষ্ট লক্ষ্য অর্জনে জেলা সরকারি গণগ্রন্থাগার, সুনামগঞ্জ সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলিতে (বিগত তিন বছর) গণগ্রন্থাগার অধিদপ্তর থেকে এবং স্থানীয়ভাবে ৫০২৫ খানা পুস্তক সংগ্রহ করে পাঠকদের ব্যবহারের জন্য পাঠকক্ষে যুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন জাতীয় দিবসভিত্তিক রচনা ও চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতার মোট ২১টি অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করা হয়েছে এবং বিজয়ীদেরকে পুরস্কার হিসেবে বই ও সনদপত্র প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এ সময়ে প্রায় ৫৮০০০ জন পাঠককে পাঠকসেবা এবং তথ্য ও রেফারেন্স সেবা প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এ সময়ে জেলা প্রশাসন, সুনামগঞ্জ আয়োজিত বইমেলাসহ বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানে সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। দেশের লাইব্রেরিসমূহে বঙ্গবন্ধু ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধ কর্নার স্থাপন প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে অত্র কার্যালয়ে দৃষ্টিনন্দন ‘বঙ্গবন্ধু ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধ কর্নার’ স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। অত্র জেলার বেসরকারি গণগ্রন্থাগারসমূহ জরিপসহ তালিকাভূক্তিকরণ কাজও সম্পন্ন করা হয়েছে।  সরকার কর্তৃক ০৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি জাতীয় গ্রন্থাগার দিবস ঘোষণা করায় দিনটি যথাযথ মর্যাদায় পালন করা হয়েছে। দপ্তরের ওয়েবপোর্টাল জাতীয় তথ্য বাতায়নের সাথে যুক্ত হওয়ায় নিয়মিত হালনাগাদ করা হচ্ছে। দপ্তরের সকল প্রকার পত্র যোগাযোগ ও নথি ব্যবস্থাপনা ই-নথি সিস্টেমে চালু করা হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ৮০% নথি ই-নথির মাধ্যমে পত্রজারি ও নোট নিষ্পন্ন করা হয়েছে।

    (The main objective of District Government Public Library, Sunamganj office is to provide effective and time-saving information services to the general public in order to fulfill the intense expectations of the people of Sunamganj district, with the aim of building a knowledgeable and enlightened society. These efforts include encouraging the general public to read books and providing time-saving and effective information services through the facilities of science-based modern information technology. To achieve the target, District Government Public Library, Sunamganj in recent years (last three years) collected 5025 books from Department of Public Library and locally and added them to the reading room for the use of readers. A total of 21 programs of essay and drawing competitions based on various national days were organized and winners were given books and certificates as prizes. About 58,000 readers have been provided readership and information and reference services during this period. At this time, the district administration, Sunamganj organized book fair and other programs have been actively participated. Through the project of setting up Bangabandhu and Muktijudda corner in the libraries of the country, a spectacular 'Bangabandhu and Muktijudda corner' has been set up in this office. The private-public libraries of the district have been surveyed and cataloged. The day has been celebrated with due dignity as the government has declared 05th February as National Library Day. The Department's web portal is being regularly updated as it is linked to national information dissemination. All correspondence and document management of the office has been introduced in the e-document system and about 80% of the documents are processed through e-documents.)
